About Right to Information  Activists Association, Assam


We are a collective of citizens, journalists, students, lawyers, and grassroots workers united by one belief: information is power, and that power belongs to the people.

The Right to Information Activists Association, Assam is an independent, nonprofit and
nonpartisan forum formed to strengthen the implementation of the Right to Information Act, 2005 in Assam. We work to empower every citizen of Assam to question, to know, and to hold public authorities accountable without fear.

The Right to Information Activists Association, Assam is an independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan forum formed to strengthen the implementation of the RTI Act, 2005. We help every citizen of Assam to question, to know, and to hold public authorities accountable — without fear.

From the banks of the Brahmaputra to the villages of Barak Valley, corruption thrives in secrecy. RTI is our tool to break that secrecy. We are not affiliated with any political party, government body or corporate house. Our only allegiance is to the Constitution of India and the people of Assam.
